The market for e-gaisserie in India has grown rapidly. Companies like BigBasket to Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Mart, Swiggy deliver Gourmet in India. In which the largest Tata-owned company BigBasket delivers 37 percent. Whereas Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Mart firm is able to deliver only 5%.
Amazon India is at number two in terms of delivery of Gossari, which delivers 15%. Flipkart is at number three, which delivers 12%. This is followed by Blinkit-11%, Reliance jio mart-5%, Swiggy’s Instamart-4%, Zepto-1% and 15% other companies.
Many companies are talking about delivery of goods in 10 minutes. Meanwhile, Tata-owned BigBasket is gearing up to launch its one-hour delivery service, BB Express, offering 7,500-8,000 products. This service can be introduced from next month, which will be powered by the company’s 62 large scale stores.
The company’s co-founder and chief executive Hari Menon said that typically 10 to 20 minute delivery services can be provided on only 4,000 products. Because the goods are delivered on the basis of selection. Along with this, the company is also launching BB Now, a 20-minute delivery service, which will offer this facility on 3000 products.
The company is also preparing to open its stores in select cities. Menon said the stores will have Tata-BigBasket branding. It has already set up 80 such stores in Andhra Pradesh and plans to take the total number to 1,500 this year.
