Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by the Central Government for poor families and BPL card holders. Under this, LPG gas cylinders have been given to crores of families of the country and now 1 crore more LPG connections have been approved under the Ujjawala 2.0 scheme.
Who is entitled to this scheme
Under this scheme only applicant can be female only, who should be 18 years of age. LPG connection of no one else in a family should be under this scheme. Adult women under this scheme – SC, ST, Pradhan Mantri Awas Scheme (Rural), Most Backward Classes (MBC), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), tea and ex-tea garden tribes, forest dwellers, people coming under any poor family can take advantage of this.
What are the documents required to apply
KYC based documents, Aadhar card (with name, address and other details as per the application), State Government Ration Card, Family Defining Document, Bank Account Number and IFSC Code, Aadhar Card of family members Documents etc. are required.
how to apply
First go to the link pmuy.gov.in. Here click on ‘Apply for New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection’. After this a popup will appear in front of you, in which you will be shown for BharatGas, Indane Gas and HP Gas connection. After selecting one, a new page will open, select the connection type Ujjwala 2.0 Connection. Select the state and district after doing the trick in the box below. After that click on ‘show list’ After that you will see the list of distributor. Select your nearest distributor center and proceed. After that enter the mobile number and fill the captcha code. Now OTP will come on the phone. After entering the OTP, you will have to fill your application form. After filling the form, you will have to upload the relevant documents. Then you will have to make payment (application is made for free under the Ujjwala scheme) If your eligibility is found correct. The connection will be released in a few days. In the meantime you can also check the status of your application.
What are the benefits
Under this scheme, poor families are given a gas stove and an LPG cylinder, which costs Rs 3200. 1600 rupees is given by the government, while another 1600 gas company gives it to the customers in the form of loan. On taking a cylinder of 14.2 kg, the customers will not be given subsidy on the first 6 refills and this money is deducted for giving loan to the gas company.
