The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka has denied to a section of the media the baseless reports that India is sending its troops to Sri Lanka.
The High Commission also condemned such irresponsible reporting and expected the concerned to refrain from spreading rumours.
To prevent unrest in the country, the Sri Lankan government has announced a curfew from 6 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday.

Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has declared a state of emergency in the country, giving security forces broad powers to arrest and detain suspects with immediate effect.
