Bhopal, Navdunia Representative. Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, many Indian students studying in Ukraine are also facing problems. Bhopal’s daughter Mitali Pal is also among those students who had to hide in the bunker in the atmosphere of war. Had to worry about food. Mithali’s family had appealed for political help, but before getting help, Mithali herself informed her father on the phone that she had left for the western border of Ukraine by train. It will take him at least three days to return to India.
Father RK Pal told that Mithali is doing MBBS from Kharkiv Medical University in Ukraine. This is his second year. Mithali came to Bhopal in September 2021. After spending happy moments with me and my mother Usha, she went back to Ukraine. The family was in constant touch with him. But last week’s news of the war put the brakes on the family’s happiness. The heartbeat of the family increases when the daughter loses contact for some time.
Had to hide in the bunker, spent the night awake
Mithali’s father RK Pal is posted in the Railways. Pal tells that many students, including Mithali, had to hide in bunkers because of the war. Had to spend the night awake. Mithali had about 20 kg of food items. Despite this, he had to worry about food. Cooking food was a difficult task. Pal had pleaded for political help for the safe return of the daughter. Even before getting help, the daughter told him that she had left for the border by train. It is not yet decided whether she will come via Poland or Romania border. Mithali told her father that there was a long traffic jam to reach the Romania border, adding to the problems of the students.
Relatives, well wishers all worried
The Pal family got worried as soon as they heard the news of the war. Father RK Pal and mother Usha Singh spent hours in front of TV channels. Keep in constant touch. Brother Ravikant also talked to Mithali and inquired about her well being. Well-wishers of the Pal family also expressed concern. Due to the crowd in Romania border, efforts are being made to bring Indian students from Kharkiv border to India via Russia. After this news, the concern of the relatives has reduced.
