According to officials associated with the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, a month ago a devotee from South India had visited the Kashi Vishwanath temple. After this, the devotee had expressed his desire to donate gold for the sanctum sanctorum from the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust. After getting permission from the temple administration, the devotee sent gold plates from Delhi by truck to Kashi Vishwanath temple through a Delhi-based institution under tight security. It is said that the devotee has donated gold equal to the weight of Prime Minister’s mother Heeraben to the temple administration. In about 30 hours between Friday and Sunday, 10 artisans succeeded in putting 37 kg of gold in the sanctum.
