Indore Gehu Mandi Bhav: Indore (Naiduniya Representative). With the arrival of wheat in Indore mandi, business is also seen to be shrinking. There is also concern among businessmen regarding this. On Tuesday, the arrival of new wheat in the market was two thousand sacks. On Wednesday, ie a day later, it was reduced to half. Hardly a thousand sacks of wheat reached the market. New wheat is being sold at a good price. Most of the arrivals are of Lokvan quality which is sold till 2300. Despite this, the problem of both traffic and cash is believed to be responsible for the weak arrival of goods in the market. Compared with Indore, the arrival of wheat is almost double in the mandis of nearby cities like Ujjain-Dewas etc.
Seeing that they are getting cash payment for their crops, farmers are also going to the nearby mandis instead of Indore with the produce. The businessmen of Indore are following the rules of Income Tax Department prohibiting cash payments. Farmers are complaining that they hardly get up to Rs 10,000 in cash for selling their goods in Indore. Even though claims are being made that the farmer is getting cash payment of up to one lakh ninety nine thousand rupees but this is not happening. In Indore mandi, the money for the goods is sent to the farmer’s account through RTGS or online. Sometimes the payment comes on the same day and sometimes the next day. In such a situation, farmers are keeping distance from Indore Mandi in the hope of getting cash. According to broker Hiralal Agiwal, it is true that the arrival of wheat this year is looking weak as compared to last year.
A few years ago, up to five thousand sacks of wheat started arriving in the market at this time. The crop has been delayed due to prolonged cold. But to reach Indore Mandi, farmers have to deal with traffic first. The police-administration has set different times for goods carrier vehicles to reach the mandi. Even if a farmer comes after facing so much trouble, but if he does not get the cash money, then he is disappointed. In such a situation, farmers are keeping distance from the market of Indore. On the other hand, there is no arrival in maize and levy also remains sluggish. Maize already has a good filling, so the levy has reduced.
Market Price: New wheat 2150 to 2300, old wheat mill quality 2050-2075, Poorna 2000-2050, Lokvan Rs 2200-2250. Maize 1925 to 1950 Rs.
