Indore News Indore, Naidunia Representative. As the business and business is increasing in Indore, which is called the financial capital of the state, the movement of heavy vehicles is also increasing. Due to this the 40 years old transport town of Bhanwarkuan has started shrinking. Then there used to be about 25 thousand trucks in the city, but now there are 2.50 lakh trucks and heavy vehicles. That is, in 40 years, heavy vehicles have increased 10 times. The increasing load of trucks is not only causing the city roads to crumble, but pollution is also increasing. The truck operators themselves want that an orderly transport city should be established outside the city, in which there will be no problem for the coming hundred years.
Now there is a double challenge before the administration, municipal corporation, traffic and transport department. On the one hand, to facilitate business activities by arranging suitable space outside the city for the transport city and on the other hand, to remove the traffic problem inside the city. However, not much work has been done so far in dealing with both the challenges. Transport businessmen say that in view of the increasing number of trucks in the city, a transport hub or transport city of at least 300-400 acres is necessary. Administrative officials say that the problem of heavy vehicles and the problem of transporters is in our notice. That is why land is being searched for the new transport city of the city.
Whatever it is, there are many problems in it too.
In Bhanwarkuan area, Indore Development Authority (IDA) had constructed Transport Nagar in Scheme 44. IDA had given plots on lease to the transporters here. It is said that this transport city is spread over 252 acres. Mechanic Nagar is in half of it. Once by giving a plot for Transport Nagar, IDA has turned its back on its problems. There are no roads here. Due to lack of proper drainage of water, dirt and sludge remains. Indore Truck Operators and Transport Association president CL Mukati and chairman Rajendra Trehan say that Indore is number one in cleanliness, but the transport city is in bad shape.
The office bearers of the association met IDA President Jaipal Singh Chavda to solve the problems and told that IDA has also banned the conversion of plots in Transport Nagar. Due to this, the lease holders are not able to use them for bank loans and other business activities. Considering the number of existing vehicles, it has become very necessary to build a new transport city.
find the right place
In view of the growing city, the transport city must be outside the city. For this, IDA can also make plans in its new schemes. The proper place will be searched. The officials and public representatives are going to discuss the master plan in a day or two. In this, other issues including Transport Nagar will also be discussed.
