Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his statement related to ‘distribution of property’. In a post on ‘X’, Deve Gowda has said that the promises made by Congress in its manifesto can only be made by a party which is confident of not coming to power. At the same time, targeting Rahul Gandhi, the former Prime Minister asked whether he is dreaming of a revolution by promising to survey the property and redistribute it. Come, let us know how Deve Gowda attacked Rahul and Congress in 5 points. They said:
1. Congress has promised so many things in its manifesto that only a party which is absolutely sure of never coming to power will make so many promises. They want to reverse the direction of this country. They want power at any cost.
2. Rahul Gandhi wants to conduct wealth survey and redistribute wealth. Does he consider himself a Maoist leader? Is he dreaming of a revolution?
3. By talking about distribution of wealth, Rahul Gandhi has insulted 2 Congress Prime Ministers, who brought market reforms and increased the wealth of this country. He is indirectly trying to say that whatever both the Congress Prime Ministers did was wrong. They have sabotaged his economic reforms just as they sabotaged the ordinances issued by the Manmohan Singh government.
4. Rahul Gandhi wants to provide 30 lakh new jobs in the central government. I have run this country. There are only 40 lakh sanctioned jobs. How can he add 30 lakh more jobs overnight. How much salary will he pay these people? Where will he employ them? Will they make them lift operators in government offices in 4 shifts? Only a person without practical knowledge can talk like this.
5. P. Chidambaram was the chairman of the manifesto committee. Does he agree with Rahul Gandhi’s immature economic views?
Will Congress hit back at Deve Gowda?
After Deve Gowda’s attack, it remains to be seen whether Congress retaliates on his statements. Actually, Deve Gowda is a seasoned politician and has led the country as a Prime Minister for many months. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how Congress hits back at Deve Gowda’s series of attacks.
