Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board working at 50 places to provide safe tourism environment to women tourists
– Ensuring participation of more and more women in service facilities
International Women’s Day 2022: Daksha Vaidkar, Bhopal. To promote tourism in the state, now women tourists coming from country and abroad will be attracted through convenience and security. So that, in terms of tourism, the image of the safest state is created among the tourists and more and more tourists are attracted towards Madhya Pradesh. For this, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has decided to ensure maximum participation of women in service facilities. Guides, from taxi drivers to women security guards are being provided at 50 major tourist places of the state. For this, special training is being given to women.
In fact, the tourism board has taken this initiative under the Nirbhaya scheme of the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development. By 2023, women will be given the responsibility of various works at 50 tourist places in the state. For this, training is being given to women in the fields like tourist guide, taxi driver, computer operator etc. through 11 institutions by spending Rs 29 crore. This tourism board project has been awarded the Responsible Tourism Award by the World Travel Market, London in November 2021.

1450 women have been trained through 27 workshops in 25 districts.
Self-defense training will be given to 9000 participants in 90 groups.
– 2454 women have been given self-defense training in 31 groups at 25 tourist centres.
Skill training is being given to 2946 participants in 10 groups.
– More than 20000 members will run awareness programs through 105 different activities.
200 women are being trained for different responsibilities at each tourist destination.

Women tourists will feel comfortable by running the undertakings by women.
Women tourists will also be able to roam alone due to women playing the role of guide, driver etc. in tourist places.
Women’s participation in the direction of employment will increase.
