CSK’s new captain Ravindra Jadeja has announced to step down from the captaincy in the middle of the season after a consistently poor performance in IPL 2022. He has decided to hand over the captaincy back to Dhoni after suffering 6 losses in 8 matches. Chennai Super Kings has announced this on Saturday. Jadeja wanted to focus on his game.
According to CSK’s press release “Ravindra Jadeja has decided to step down from the captaincy to focus more and focus on his game and has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has taken the lead of CSK in larger interest.” Accepted to take the lead and allow Jadeja to focus on his game.”

Mahendra Singh Dhoni had announced to step down as captain a few days before the start of season 15. Ravindra Jadeja was given this responsibility in his place. Under Jadeja’s captaincy, the team had to face defeat in 6 out of 8 matches.

Apart from CSK’s poor form, Jadeja has also struggled in the tournament, scoring just 112 runs in 92 balls at a strike rate of 121.7, while taking five wickets in eight innings at an economy rate of 8.19.
