Dhul will play for Delhi in IPL this year
Dhul, in his Ranji debut against Tamil Nadu, scored two centuries in two innings and explained why he is being counted among the best players of the times to come. Dhul told about IPL that he is very excited to face Jofra Archer. Archer has good pace and makes great variations. However, Yash Dhul will have to wait another year for this. Archer will not play IPL this year due to injury. He will join Mumbai Indians in 2023. Mumbai has bought him for Rs 8 crore.
Dhul wants to have a bigger partnership with Warner
Dhul said- I also want to have a big partnership with David Warner while playing for Delhi Capitals. I expected Delhi to buy me in the auction this year as I am also a part of their academy. I am also looking forward to meeting Ricky Ponting and playing under his supervision.
This statement was given about the conversation with Virat Kohli
The Indian team also got an opportunity to interact with Virat Kohli ahead of the Under-19 World Cup against England. Dhul also spoke about how Kohli inspired the U-19 team. Dhul said – It was a wonderful moment. Virat Kohli shares his experience with us. After that all the players were ready for the final.
Dhul said this about NCA chief Laxman
Dhul said- The team benefited a lot due to VVS Laxman, Chief of the National Cricket Academy being in our camp during the World Cup. He shared his experience with us and motivated us to perform well on the field. Laxman taught us to be calm on the field and how we can handle ourselves during the match. Even when our players got corona during the tournament, Laxman sir used to take full care of us and never let us get demotivated.
Experience told about opening for Delhi
Regarding his brilliant debut in Ranji Trophy, Dhul said- When I came to know that I was going to open for Delhi, I prepared myself differently for it. I believed in myself that I would do well. Dhul has become the third Indian batsman to score centuries in both the innings in his Ranji debut. In the match against Tamil Nadu, Dhul scored 113 runs in both the innings. However, Delhi’s team could not win this match and in the end the match was drawn.
Dhul created history on his Ranji debut
Before Dhul, only two Indian batsmen were able to score centuries in both the innings of their first Ranji match. Nari Contractor from Gujarat had scored 152 and 102 runs in 1952/53. In 2012/13, Virag Awate of Maharashtra scored 126 and 112 runs. Yash Dhul has surpassed the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Sachin also scored a century in his first Ranji match, but he could not achieve this feat in both the innings.
