Auckland. New Zealand has announced its team for the five-match T20 series against Pakistan starting this month. Most of the star cricketers of New Zealand will not play in this series. All of them are busy in IPL 2024. Considering the busy schedule of its star cricketers, New Zealand has made all-rounder Michael Bracewell the captain of its team for the Pakistan tour. This will be the first time that Bracewell will captain New Zealand.
New Zealand’s players like Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitcher, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner and Kane Williamson are playing in IPL. Considering the busy schedule of the team, Tim Southee’s name was not considered. Tom Latham, Will Young, Colin Munro will also not go on Pakistan tour due to different reasons.

31-year-old Michael Bracewell was out of action since March last year due to injury. He played his first T20 International match only two years ago. He has played only 16 international matches in this format so far.
New Zealand’s team includes seven players who played in the T20 World Cup last year. Apart from these, two new faces are also included in the team in the form of batsman Tim Robinson and fast bowler Will O’Rourke. The first match of the series will be played in Rawalpindi on 18 April.
