IPL 2024 Fastest ball: Mayank Yadav broke his own record, bowled the fastest ball, Maxwell-Green flew in the ‘storm’
Mayank Yadav plays for Delhi in domestic cricket. The story of his selection in the Delhi team is also interesting. Actually, Mayank’s father Prabhu Yadav works in a factory in Delhi. Therefore Mayank’s education took place in Delhi only. He also learned the art of cricket in the Sonet Club here. His initial coach was Tarak Sinha, who promoted everyone from Shikhar Dhawan to Rishabh Pant.
Devender Sharma of Sonet Club while talking to ‘Indian Express’ told an interesting story of Mayank playing from Delhi. He told that Mayank could not make a place in the Delhi team in the year 2020. Despite this he rejected the offer of services. Quoting Mayank, Indian Express also writes, ‘I took part in the trials for the Services team. I used only 50 percent of my strength in the trials and bowled three-four bouncers. Within a short while the officer who came for the trials told me that I had been selected. But I wanted to play from Delhi. I immediately ran to the coach (Tarak Sinha) and said, Sir, I am a boy from Delhi and had to play from here.
Everyone knows the later story. Mayank was selected for the Delhi team in 2021. He played his first List A match under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan. But sadly, coach Tarak Sinha was not there to see Mayank’s debut. He had died a few months ago due to Covid.
