New Delhi. The Indian Premier League may change the picture of the Indian team before the T20 World Cup. Through this T20 league, many players, especially fast bowlers, are staking their claim in the Indian team. These include pacers like Khalil Ahmed, Arshdeep Singh. Both Khaleel and Arshdeep are performing well in IPL 2024 and are challenging Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal in the race for the Purple Cap.
Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Supergiants competed in IPL 2024 on Friday. Lucknow captain KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first but the team did not like this decision. Delhi Capitals pacer Khalil Ahmed pushed Lucknow Supergiants on the backfoot by taking the wickets of opener Quinton de Kock and Devdutt Padikkal within the powerplay.

With this, Khalil Ahmed took his number of wickets in IPL 2024 to 9. Left-arm pacer Khalil has taken most of the wickets with the new ball during the powerplay. Now only Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal have been able to take more wickets than him in the tournament. Arshdeep Singh of Punjab Kings and Mohit Sharma of Gujarat Titans are also performing well. Both of them have taken 8-8 wickets so far.
T20 World Cup is to be held in June this year. The Indian team for this tournament can be announced on May 1. There does not seem to be any problem regarding batting and all-rounder in the Indian team. But the situation is not clear yet regarding fast bowling. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, it does not seem certain for any other fast bowler to play the World Cup. Mohammed Shami is injured, while Mohammed Siraj is colourless. In such a situation, the excellent performance of Khalil Ahmed and Arshdeep Singh strengthens their claim in Team India.
