“We welcome the commitment of the European Union to contribute to the security of the Indo-Pacific,” Jaishankar said. This sector will play an important role in shaping this century. We can keep the oceans peaceful and safe with our collective efforts.
Jaishankar met his counterparts from different countries on Monday
Earlier, Jaishankar had met his counterparts from Bangladesh, South Korea, the Czech Republic and the European Union. During this, they discussed mutual interests and ways to strengthen bilateral relations. He had reached France on Sunday.
On Monday, Jaishankar met South Korean Foreign Minister Chung Ae-yong. The two leaders had agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Jaishankar had said that we also discussed regional issues of common concern.
Jaishankar on Sunday held talks with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on a range of issues of regional and global importance, including bilateral cooperation, the Indo-Pacific, the situation in Afghanistan, the Iranian nuclear deal and the Ukraine crisis.
