Ahmedabad. BJP has cornered Congress on the issue of Katchatheevu Island. Now she is cornering Congress on the issue of China also. Foreign Minister S. While addressing the people at Gujarat Chambers of Commerce and Industries in Ahmedabad, Jaishankar first took the name of PM Jawaharlal Nehru and pointed out his role in the problem raised by China.
Jaishankar said on Tuesday that in the year 1950, Sardar Patel, who was the Home Minister, had warned Nehru against China. Jaishankar said that Sardar Patel had told Jawaharlal Nehru that for the first time we are facing such a situation on two fronts i.e. China and Pakistan, which we have never faced before. Sardar Patel also told Nehru that he did not trust China’s words. According to Jaishankar, Sardar Patel had said that we should be careful, because his intentions seem to be something else. The Foreign Minister said that when Sardar Patel said all this about China, Nehru told him that you doubt China without any reason. Nehru also said that it was impossible for anyone to attack us from the Himalayas.
In a scathing attack on past Congress governments, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar accused former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of prioritizing China over India in matters related to India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Jaishankar said that Nehru also took China’s side in the matter of membership of the United Nations Security Council. The Foreign Minister said that Nehru had said at that time that we deserve it, but China should first get permanent membership of the Security Council. The External Affairs Minister said that there was a time when Nehru used to talk about China first and India later. This statement given by the Foreign Minister in the name of Nehru is important because Congress and opposition leaders are continuously alleging that during the Modi government, China intruded into India and occupied a lot of land. Whereas, during the 1962 war during the Nehru era, China had captured a large land of India.
