New Delhi. Assembly elections can be held soon in Jammu and Kashmir. Now the way for conducting elections in the state is almost clear. Actually, on Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Delimitation Commission has released its final report. After which now the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir can be heard soon. It is being speculated that elections in the state may be held in the month of October this year. It is to be known that a few months ago, Home Minister Amit Shah himself had said that the process of delimitation is going to be completed soon. Along with this, he had also told that assembly elections could be held in the next 6 to 8 months.

Along with this, after the completion of the process of delimitation of assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, there will be an increase in seven assembly seats here. According to sources, after the completion of the delimitation process, 07 assembly seats will increase in Jammu and Kashmir. Where there will be 06 seats in Jammu and one in Kashmir. With this, there will now be a total of 90 assembly seats in the valley. According to reports, there may be 43 seats in Jammu and 47 seats in Kashmir. Apart from this, 09 seats will be reserved for Scheduled Tribes and 07 for Scheduled Castes.
The Jammu and Kashmir Delimitation Commission has released the final report after a meeting in the capital Delhi today. According to official sources, the deadline for the commission to submit the final report was 06 May 2022. Earlier, suggestions were taken from Jammu and Kashmir by issuing a draft report on behalf of the commission.
