New Delhi. Jayant Chaudhary’s party RLDP has announced candidates for two Lok Sabha seats. Chandan Chauhan has been given ticket from Bijnor seat, while Rajkumar Sangwan has been made the candidate from Baghpat seat. He has also declared Yogesh Chaudhary as the candidate for the Legislative Council. Baghpat is considered the stronghold of RLDP. There are three assembly seats in the district. In 2012, BSP won two seats and RLDP won one seat. However, in 2017, BJP won two seats and RLDP won one seat. Later RLDP MLAs also joined BJP. Chhaprauli seat is considered a stronghold of RLDP, which is represented by Chaudhary Charan Singh and Ajit Singh. Satyapal Singh of BJP is the MP from Baghpat Lok Sabha. Ajit Singh Chaudhary has represented Baghpat Lok Sabha seat several times.
Baghpat has received many developments during the tenure of PM Modi. The gifts include Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. Also, in October 2023, CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 311 projects worth Rs 351 crore. The capacity of Ramala Sugar Mill of the district has been doubled. Apart from this, a satellite city is being set up between Delhi and Meerut. It is noteworthy that 114 investors have signed MoU worth Rs 17 thousand crore for investment in Baghpat.
