In connection with the violence that broke out after stone pelting in the procession taken out on Hanuman Jayanti in Jahangirpuri area of the capital Delhi on Saturday, the Delhi Police has arrested 9 people while registering the first FIR.
DCP (North-West) Usha Rangnani said that so far 9 accused have been arrested in the Jahangirpuri violence case. The DCP said that 9 people including 8 police personnel and 1 civilian were injured in this violence. A sub-inspector sustained bullet injuries and his condition is stable.
Delhi Police has arrested nine accused persons so far in this case under IPC sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 353, 332, 323, 427, 436, 307, 120B and 27 Arms Act.
Several teams including the Crime Branch and Special Cell of Delhi Police are engaged in the investigation of the case. Heavy police force as well as paramilitary force personnel have been deployed in the area to keep the situation under control.
