New Delhi . The Home Ministry has given security clearance to Jet Airways to resume its commercial services in the country in the coming months. The security clearance has been given in view of the proposed changes in the management control and shareholding pattern of Jet Airways.
The government took this step after the Jalan Colorrock consortium became the new promoter of the airline and approached the government for security clearance. Earlier the Naresh Goyal-owned airline operated its last flight on April 17, 2019, before its operations were suspended due to financial crunch.
On May 5, Jet Airways conducted its test flight to and from Hyderabad airport after a gap of more than three years.
Now the airlines will soon operate proven flights under the supervision of the field regulator of Directorate General of Civil Aviation to demonstrate their ability to take to the skies again.
If successful, DGCA will award it Air Operator Certificate.
Once a leader in India’s private aviation industry, Jet Airways announced in April 2019 that it was temporarily shutting down its operations after it failed to receive emergency funding from any source.
