Varanasi. The matter of survey of Gyanvapi Masjid located in Varanasi, UP will be heard in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division Ravi Kumar Diwakar today. The court had ordered a survey by May 10, but according to the Hindu side, the arranging committee and lawyers of the mosque prevented the court commissioner and the team from conducting the survey. Survey commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra will also submit his report in the court. Ajay has been accused of favoritism by the Muslim side. According to Hindu side lawyer Sohanlal Arya, the court had given a clear order on the method of survey, but it was not followed. The commissioner and the team were not allowed inside the mosque for the survey.
According to Sohanlal, the people of the Muslim side stood by blocking the door of the mosque on both the days. At the same time, it has been said from the Muslim side that we are not participating in the survey. Because of this it could not happen. Please note that till date the survey work has been stopped. A large number of security forces were deployed outside the mosque on both the days. Despite this, sloganeering and obstructing work was being done from one side outside here. In the case of spreading religious frenzy, the police had also arrested Mohammad Abdul Salam of Chandauli. Apart from this, the police is also searching for many unknowns.
The Hindu side says that the Gyanvapi mosque was built by demolishing the ancient Vishweshwar temple. He says that in the basement below the mosque there are Shivalinga of Adi Vishweshwar and idols of other gods and goddesses. According to the Hindu side, the mosque was built by demolishing the temple during the time of Aurangzeb. At the same time, the Muslim side says that the survey work cannot be done under the Act on Place of Worship made in 1991. It was said in this law that whatever form the places of worship were in 1947, they cannot be changed. Under the law, only the dispute over the Ram temple in Ayodhya was excluded.
