New Delhi. Jignesh Mevani, who is out on bail for his objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seems to be in trouble once again. The case dates back to five years ago, when Jignesh Mevani, NCP leaders Reshma Patel and Subodh Parmar had organized a rally without permission in violation of a government notice. Now Mevani of Gujarat has been sentenced to three months in jail by Mehsana Court to 12 people including Jignes Mevani, Reshma Patel on Thursday. All these culprits had organized a rally in the year 2017 without the permission of the administration. Jignesh Mevani was arrested by the Assam Police from Gujarat for saying objectionable things against PM Modi. However, after this Jignesh got bail.
After that Jignesh Mevani was also arrested on the charge of assaulting a female policeman in jail. In this case also Jignesh got bail and he was out on bail nowadays. At present, the Assam Police has filed an appeal against Jignesh’s bail in the Gauhati High Court. On the other hand, if Reshma Patel is to be followed, then she is currently with NCP, but earlier Reshma was involved in BJP. Before the elections in 2017, he had joined BJP and then in 2019 he resigned from BJP saying that now BJP has become just a marketing party.
Court reprimanded
According to media reports, the court has strongly reprimanded Jignesh and his associates for holding a rally without permission. Magistrate JA Parmar, while giving the verdict on this, said that there is no crime in holding a rally, but rallying without permission comes under the category of crime. Such an act cannot be ignored or condoned.
