Joined the job at a salary of Rs 4800, accused of acquiring assets worth Rs 4 crore

Raipur News Desk. The CBI raided the house of senior Indian Audit Department official Virendra Kumar Patel in Raipur. Patel is accused of acquiring property worth about Rs 4 crore in the name of his wife. The CBI has confirmed corruption by examining the documents.

Action has been taken at three places in Raipur, including the residential and office premises of officer Virendra Kumar Patel. The CBI claims that the officer had created 10 immovable properties in the form of agricultural land and residential plots in the name of his wife.

Wife has property worth around Rs 4 crore
Senior CBI officials have said in a statement that Virendra joined the service as SO on July 13, 2006. During this time, his salary was Rs 4,800. He is involved in corruption while working. He has amassed Rs. 3 crore 89 lakh 54 thousand and acquired movable and immovable assets. During the investigation of the DA account during the officer’s tenure, Rs. 1 crore 47 lakh 50 thousand 143 were found in the name of his wife. The CBI team examined the documents at all three locations till late night.
