Judge sahab, then on LG too.... Singhvi gave such an argument for Kejriwal that silence spread in the full court

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal is badly trapped in the Delhi liquor scam case. First ED and now CBI have tightened the noose around him. Kejriwal has got bail in the ED case, but he is still waiting for relief in the CBI case. The CBI case of corruption related to the liquor scam was heard in the Delhi High Court on Monday. During this, Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal in such a way that silence prevailed in the full court. Singhvi suddenly took the name of LG during his argument. At the same time, CBI said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was the mastermind of this entire liquor scam. Currently, the Delhi High Court has reserved its decision on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea.

In fact, the CBI strongly opposed Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea. In front of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna’s bench, the CBI said that the investigating agency has evidence to show Arvind Kejriwal’s involvement in this case. Advocate DP Singh appeared in the High Court on behalf of the CBI. DP Singh said, ‘The investigation could not have been completed without arrest. Within a month, we filed a charge sheet… After the arrest, we got more evidence. His own party workers also came forward to answer.’ He also told that the final charge sheet has been filed in the trial court.

Excise policy case: You did not attach any document… As soon as the file of Arvind Kejriwal case reached the judge, the court fixed a date, what did it say to CBI?

‘Arrests based on mere speculation’
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared in the court on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal. Abhishek Singhvi argued that this arrest was an insurance arrest. The CBI made this arrest to ensure that Arvind Kejriwal does not come out of jail. Singhvi insisted in the open court that there is no direct evidence against Arvind Kejriwal and the CBI has arrested him only on the basis of assumptions and possibilities.

Singhvi’s argument created silence
After this, while presenting the argument, Abhishek Manu Singhvi suddenly mentioned the LG. Abhishek Singhvi said that the excise policy was an institutional decision, which was also signed by the LG i.e. Lieutenant Governor of Delhi after going through several committees. He also said that other people involved in this process should also be made co-accused. Singhvi said in the packed court, ’15 other people had also signed it. LG had also signed… so on his own argument he should also be made an accused.’ After this, there was silence in the packed court.

Singhvi said- Sir nothing was recovered
Singhvi further said that nothing has been recovered from Arvind Kejriwal and the case against him is based on assumptions and hypotheses. At the same time, the CBI lawyer also objected to Arvind Kejriwal directly approaching the High Court and said that if he is released, the Chief Minister is likely to influence the witnesses. Let us tell you that the CBI has filed a chargesheet in this case. Apart from Arvind Kejriwal, 6 other people have been made accused in this. Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI from Tihar Jail on June 26, when he was in mechanical custody in a money laundering case registered by the ED. The court’s decision on Kejriwal’s petition challenging the CBI’s arrest is yet to come. The Chief Minister, who was arrested by the ED on March 21, was granted bail by a trial court in the money laundering case on June 20.
