New Delhi. Justice Vipin Sanghi has been appointed as the new Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. His appointment is effective from March 13. Delhi High Court Chief Justice DN Patel is set to retire on March 13.
According to the official notification, the President has appointed Justice Vipin Sanghi, the senior-most Judge of the Delhi High Court, as the new Acting Chief Justice of the High Court in accordance with the powers conferred under Section 223 of the Constitution. Justice Sanghi will take over on March 13 when the current Chief Justice Dhirubhai Naranbhai Patel retires.
Born on 27 October 1961 in Nagpur, Justice Sanghi completed his LLB in 1986 and joined the Delhi Bar Council as an advocate in the same year.
Justice Sanghi’s father GS Sanghi and grandfather VK Sanghi were also lawyers. He initially worked with senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi and during 1990-91 he joined the panel of lawyers of the Central Government.
He was also on the panel of lawyers of the Central Government in the Supreme Court.
