Mahinder Kaur, an 87-year-old woman farmer from village Bahadurgarh Jandia in the district, has filed a defamation case against Kangana in the district court. The matter was heard in the district court on Wednesday. Raghuveer Singh Bahniwal, the lawyer of the elderly woman farmer, told that the case was filed in the court on January 4, 2021. Whose hearing lasted for about 13 months.
Now the court has issued summons to Kangana. The court has ordered Kangana to appear in the court on 19 April 2022. Kangana mistook Mahinder Kaur, an elderly woman farmer involved in the farmers’ movement, as the face of the anti-CAA protest at Shaheen Bagh. Mahinder Kaur said that Kangana compared her to some other woman.
He said that Kangana’s tweet caused him mental trouble. His image has been hurt among family members, relatives, neighbors, villagers and common people. After this incident, Kangana’s protest started across Punjab. Earlier, Kangana was surrounded by farmers in Sri Kiratpur Sahib. Where his remarks were opposed. The farmers had spoken of apologizing to Kangana. Kangana said there that she had said this for the Shaheen Bagh Protest. However, Kangana refused to apologise. Kangana was coming to Chandigarh from Himachal via Punjab at that time.
