The country’s goods exports grew by 26.4 per cent to $25.33 billion in February, up from February 21, 2022, driven by better performance in sectors such as gems and jewellery, engineering, textiles and chemicals.
According to the commerce ministry, between February 1 and February 21 last year, exports stood at $ 20.04 billion. The country’s exports grew 46.53 per cent to $335.44 billion in the first nine months of the current financial year i.e. April-January.
This figure was $228.9 billion in the same period a year ago. The ministry expects exports to cross the target of $400 billion in the current fiscal. On the other hand, Textiles Secretary Upendra Prasad Singh said that in five years, textile exports will reach $100 billion.
