The results of all 224 seats in the Karnataka Assembly will come today.
The majority mark to form the government in the Karnataka Assembly is 113 seats.
Like every time, the Karnataka assembly elections have been mainly between the ruling BJP, Congress and JDS.
In Karnataka, 71.77 per cent of the total 5.21 crore voters had cast their vote on May 10.
Last time i.e. in 2018, BJP got 104 seats. BJP got 36.35 percent votes last time.
Congress got 80 seats in the 2018 elections. The Congress was voted by 38.14 per cent voters.
JDS got 37 seats in the last assembly elections. He got 18.3 percent votes.
Apart from these, BSP won 1 seat and others won 2 seats.
After the 2018 elections, the Congress made JDS’s HD Kumaraswamy the CM by supporting it. He was CM from 23 May 2018 to 23 July 2019 i.e. 14 months. Then 22 Congress MLAs broke away and went to BJP.
BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa formed the government with the help of MLAs who had broken away from the Congress. Yeddyurappa was the CM of Karnataka from 26 July 2019 to 28 July 2021. After him, Basavaraj Bommai, who came from JDU to BJP since July 28, is the CM of the BJP government.
At present, the ruling BJP has 116 MLAs in the outgoing assembly. After that Congress has 69 MLAs, JDS 29, BSP 1 and Independents 2. Apart from this, 6 seats were vacant. Now everyone’s eyes are on which party gets a chance to form the government in Karnataka with the majority of the people today.
