Bangalore. In a shocking development on Wednesday, the police have registered a complaint against Raichur BJP MLA Dr Shivraj Patil in connection with the abduction of a woman councillor. The complaint, submitted to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant, states that MLA Shivraj Patil and his followers have allegedly kidnapped Shainaaz Begum, a member of Raichur Corporation, from a private hospital. Shainaz Begum’s son MD Ali has filed a complaint.
Ali alleged that the election for the post of chairman of Raichur Corporation has been fixed on March 30 (Wednesday), so the accused kidnapped her from a private hospital where she was undergoing treatment to abstain from voting. .
Shinaz Begum is an elected member of Ward No 26 of Raichur Corporation. He was admitted to the hospital on 26 March. Ali said in his complaint that his brother Mohammad Alam and his mother-in-law Khajabi were with Sheinaz in the hospital.
On Tuesday, Sheinaz’s cell phone was switched off and when she tried to contact her brother and mother-in-law, their cell phones were also switched off. Ali mentioned in the complaint that on questioning the hospital, he was informed that the three of them had been taken away in a white car.
He said that when CCTV was checked, it was found that the vehicle belonged to BJP MLA Shivraj Patil. Even after trying to get in touch with the MLA and his supporters, there was no response from their side.
He said in the complaint that my mother has been kidnapped to avoid voting in the Raichur Corporation’s presidential election. BJP MLA Shivraj Patil will be held responsible if anything happens to my mother and family members. My family members should be rescued immediately and legal action should be initiated against the BJP MLA and his supporters.
