Panchayati Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa has resigned on Friday evening in connection with the death of a contractor in Karnataka. However, even after this, the period of opposition’s displeasure has not stopped. Congress is pressurizing the BJP government of the state to arrest Eshwarappa. Congress says that the war against corruption will continue. Here, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed confidence that everything will come out after the police investigation.
Eshwarappa resigned in one line and said goodbye to the post. He wrote, ‘I am resigning from my ministerial post of my own volition.’ He had said, ‘I want to come out of all these allegations. I have spoken to Basavaraj Bommai and Union ministers about it. I have already tendered my resignation, as I did not want to let this issue become a cause of embarrassment for the government, people promoting me, central leaders and party workers.
BJP leader shows his resignation in front of media in Bengaluru. During this, many ministers including CM Bommai were with him. Eshwarappa said that he has requested the CM to ensure that the forces conspiring against him are brought to the fore. His supporters also raised slogans like ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Anyaya’ near the CM residence.
what was the matter
Santosh Patil of Belagavi was a worker of Bharatiya Janata Party and a contractor by profession. His body was found on Tuesday at a hotel in Udupi. The special thing is that two weeks ago, he had demanded 40 per cent commission for harassing Eshwarappa and releasing funds of Rs 4 crore. A day before the contractor’s body was found, Patil had sent a note to his close friends and media persons through WhatsApp, in which Eshwarappa was held responsible. Whereas, BJP leaders are calling it a political conspiracy.
