Summer has started and to avoid it, people are installing ACs and coolers in their homes. The way it is in the heat throughout North India, it is difficult to survive with just a fan. Like AC, cooler also needs maintenance every year. The grass in the cooler should be changed from time to time so that cool air can flow through it and the room remains cool. At present two types of coolers are available in the market. You bring one for indoor use and the other is an outdoor cooler, which we install on the window of our room.
Honey comb mesh is installed in coolers used indoors, which is usually prepared by adding synthetic chemicals to paper pulp. These meshes do not need to be changed frequently. These last easily for 2 to 3 years. At the same time, khus grass is used in coolers installed outdoors, which should be changed every season so that you continue to get cool air. This grass is easily available in the market in the price range of Rs 100.
Keep these things in mind while changing grass
- While changing the grass of the cooler, you should keep in mind that it should completely cover the body. If the grass does not completely cover the body, then the flow of water will be obstructed, due to which the entire grass will not get wet and cool air will not be available.
- While changing the grass, it should also be kept in mind that its spread should remain uniform throughout the body. Because even if the layer of grass becomes thick at some places and thin at other places, it still does not get wet properly.
- While placing grass in the cooler, keep in mind that air can pass through it easily. Even if grass is planted too thickly, air will not pass through it easily and it will not provide cooling.
- Apart from this, also check the flow of water coming from the pump installed in the cooler so that the right amount of water falls on the grass from everywhere. This will not spoil the grass and you will continue to get cool air.
