The government has extended the date of registration twice, the central government has opened the registration window for 31 days from January 1, 2022 to January 31, 2022, first from February 14, 2022 and now till February 28.
In September last year, a package of Rs 10,683 crore was announced by the central government for setting up large manufacturing units in the textile industry. Under this, the government had invited traders for online registration in PLI. For this, the Central Government had opened the registration window for 31 days from 1 January 2022 to 31 January 2022. However, in view of the low activity of traders, the date of registration has been extended to 14 February 2022 and now 28 February.
Let us tell you that in view of the current circumstances, there is a possibility that the date of registration may be extended further in the coming days. Although this scheme is best for setting up large units, yet the industrialists associated with the textile industry of Surat are shying away from registering.
Let us inform that in September last year, the textile scheme was announced by the government with a package of Rs 10,683 crore. Out of which a package of Rs 8000 crore has been allocated for MMF Man Made Fabrics while a package of Rs 4000 crore has been allocated for Technical Textiles. Even after all this, the industrialists of the weaving-weaving sector of Surat have not yet registered for the benefit of this scheme. This is because most of the units are being set up with a funding of Rs 30-50 crore. Along with this, two schemes of Rs 100 and Rs 300 crore have been announced to take advantage of this scheme. Which is relatively high due to which the industrialists of Surat are of the opinion that they are not registering.
