Visakhapatnam. After opening the account of victory in the Indian Premier League, Delhi Capitals will be eyeing to maintain the momentum. The team will be trying to prove in the IPL match on Wednesday that the victory against Chennai Super Kings was no fluke. Kolkata Knight Riders, coming after winning two matches, will be eyeing a hat-trick. This clash will be between Rishabh Pant and Delhi Capitals’ old captain Shreyas Iyer.
Delhi defeated defending champion Chennai by 20 runs on Sunday, which was their first win this season. Now they face KKR whose batsmen had performed brilliantly against the bowlers of Royal Challengers Bangalore on 29 March. For Delhi, the responsibility of giving a good start will be on Australia’s David Warner and Prithvi Shaw. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant returned to his old form after average performance in the first two matches and scored 51 runs in 32 balls.
Stubbs performed well against Rajasthan Royals and the team will be expecting him to maintain this momentum. On the other hand, Marsh has not yet batted the way he is known for. Delhi’s Indian bowlers will have to show a better game against the strong batting order of KKR.
Khalil Ahmed bowled well against CSK but he will have to improve in fielding. His habit of taking high catches is not leaving him and against Chennai he dropped the catch of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Mukesh Kumar does not have pace but Ishant Sharma’s experience is coming in handy for the team.
On the other hand, KKR has won both the matches so far. Opener Phil Salt, all-rounder Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer looked in good form. Captain Shreyas Iyer also scored runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In bowling, fast bowler Harshit Rana has impressed but expensively bought Mitchell Starc and Varun Chakraborty could not perform.
