The committee appointed by the Supreme Court in the Lakhimpur case has filed a status report in the court. This committee told the court that the SIT probing the case had twice recommended to the UP government to cancel the bail of Ashish Mishra. It has also been told in this report that Ashish Mishra was present on the spot when the car ran over the farmer agitators in Lakhimpur Kheri. Four farmers were killed in this, while 4 more people died in the violence that followed. In this way, a total of 8 people died due to violence. Not only this, Ashish Mishra was also aware that the route of Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, who reached the district to participate in a program, has changed.
Ashish Mishra is accused of ramming a car on agitating farmers in Lakhimpur Khari, in which 4 people died. After a long debate, an SIT was formed to investigate the matter and Ashish Mishra was arrested after its recommendation. However, during the UP assembly elections, Ashish Mishra got bail from the Allahabad High Court. This decision of the High Court was challenged in the Supreme Court by the relatives of the deceased farmers. During the hearing held on March 30, the Supreme Court had asked the Uttar Pradesh government why it had not opposed Ashish Mishra’s bail.
The UP government had spoken on the question of SC – we had strongly opposed
On this, the Uttar Pradesh government replied that Ashish Mishra’s bail was strongly opposed on its behalf. Not only this, the UP government said that it had also given full protection to the witnesses of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. Ashish Mishra was arrested on October 9 as an accused in the Lakhimpur incident. After this, on February 14, on 14 February, on behalf of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, Ashish Mishra was ordered for bail. Ashish Mishra was granted bail on the basis of two sureties of Rs 3 lakh.
