Voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 will take place on Friday. In this phase, votes will be cast for 88 seats of the Lok Sabha. Many veterans and former Chief Ministers are in the fray. The heirs of three royal families are in the public court in this phase. Many leaders of political families are also in the fray. Prominent among them are HD Kumar Swamy, son of former PM HD Deve Gowda and former CM Deve Gowda, and CN Manjunath, son-in-law of former PM Deve Gowda.
HD Kumar Swamy is the NDA candidate from Mandya and Manjunath from Bengaluru Rural. In Karnataka itself, DK Suresh, brother of state Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, is the Congress candidate from Bengaluru Rural. In Rajasthan, Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former CM Ashok Gehlot, is a candidate from Jalore. Similarly, Dushyant Singh, son of former CM Vasundhara Raje, is in the fray from Jhalawar-Baran. On the other hand, in Kerala, Anil Antony, son of former CM and former Defense Minister AK Antony, is contesting from Pathanamthitta on BJP ticket. Former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel is a candidate from Rajnandgaon seat.
