Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The election campaign for the second phase of the eighteenth Lok Sabha elections will end on 89 seats in 13 states on Wednesday evening. The future of many stalwarts is at stake in the second phase of voting, these include BJP’s Pralhad Joshi, Hema Malini, Om Birla, Arun Govil, Navneet Rana, Mahesh Sharma. Apart from this, voting on the seats of Congress’ Shashi Tharoor and Rahul Gandhi will also be held in the second phase. Shashi Tharoor is contesting from Thiruvananthapuram and Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad, Kerala.
Elections on all seats in Kerala
In the second phase, voting will be held on 5 seats in Bihar, 5 in Assam, 3 in Chhattisgarh, 1 in Jammu and Kashmir and 14 seats in Karnataka. Apart from this, voting on all 20 seats of Kerala will be held in the second phase on 26th April only. Voting will also be held in the second phase for 7 Lok Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh, 13 of Rajasthan, 8 of Maharashtra, 1 of Tripura and 8 of Uttar Pradesh. Voting will take place on 3 seats in West Bengal.
PM Modi’s explosive rally
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi is going to campaign heavily in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh today. PM Modi will address a rally in Surguja, Chhattisgarh today at 10:45 am. After this, he will address a public meeting in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh at 2:45 pm. At the same time, at 5:15 pm, PM will make political noise from Betul. PM Modi will also hold a road show in old Bhopal today. This road show of PM Modi will start from in front of the Old Assembly at 7:00 pm and will pass through Roshanpura intersection and end near Apex Bank Point.
Rahul’s public meetings in Amravati and Solapur
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be in Maharashtra today to campaign for the INDIA Alliance-Maha Vikas Aghadi candidates contesting from Amravati (SC) and Solapur (SC) Lok Sabha seats. Starting from Amravati, Rahul Gandhi will meet joint opposition candidate Balwant B. at Nabeel Colony in Paratwada at 11:00 am. Will address a public rally in favor of Wankhade. Later, he will hold a rally in support of party candidate Praniti Sushil Kumar Shinde at the Exhibition Ground in Solapur at around 4:00 pm. Top leaders of MVA and Congress including party state unit chief Nana Patole, Balasheb Thorat, former CM and former Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and other senior leaders will be present in both the rallies.
Results of the second phase of the last Lok Sabha elections
It is noteworthy that in the last Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party had won 51 out of 89 seats for voting in the second phase. NDA allies had 8 seats in their account. 21 Congress MPs were victorious in the last elections. Apart from this, the remaining seats went to CPM, BSP and others. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Congress got huge success in Kerala. Congress’s UDF had captured 19 out of 20 seats. BJP had control over 7 seats of Madhya Pradesh for voting in the second phase. In Bihar, 1 seat was with BJP and 4 with JDU. BJP will also be tested in Rajasthan and Tripura, because BJP has all the seats. BJP holds 3 seats in Assam and Congress holds 2.
