Police have arrested two people while seizing the lottery having market value of Rs 3 crore. The names of the arrested businessmen have been stated as Chandu Kesari and Bittu Rajak. Police has taken this action in Maharajganj locality of Jamui city.
According to the police, illegal lottery was found in several cartons loaded on an auto. All the lotteries are from Bengal and different dates of the month of April are written on them. In the case, the police have said that the remaining people are being identified while uncovering the gang. According to the police, there is also a fear that these lotteries will be used as a bait during the Lok Sabha elections.

Actually, the police had received information that a consignment had reached Jamui for illegal sale of lottery tickets in large quantities on an auto. After this, a police team was formed on the instructions of SP Shaurya Suman and then on the basis of technical surveillance, a special team conducted a raid and seized an auto on which a large consignment of lottery tickets laden with nine cartoons was recovered. According to the police, the face value of the recovered lottery is Rs 32 lakh. In the preliminary interrogation of the arrested accused, the market value of these lotteries has been said to be around Rs 3 crore 20 lakh.

Police started investigating the case

The police is also conducting a thorough investigation on the issue of luring voters through this illegal lottery and using unfair means in the Lok Sabha elections. Police have found important evidence regarding backward and forward linkages in all these recovered lotteries. Based on this evidence, the police is conducting large-scale research on illegal lotteries and their sources and points of supply.
