Now an advisory has been issued by the Central Government regarding the case of fraud through WhatsApp calls.
Let us tell you that in the recent past, many complaints have been received on WhatsApp regarding calls coming from unknown numbers. Now the government has become strict on this. To prevent calls from unknown numbers on WhatsApp and fraud through it, a warning has been issued by DOT, another communication department of the Central Government.
DOT issued advisory
The Telecom Department of the Center has asked WhatsApp users to remain alert on voice calls coming from unknown numbers. The department said that in the last few days, many such complaints have been received in which people said that they get calls from unknown numbers on WhatsApp and the caller claims to be an official of a government department.
The department said that not only this, the person calling also threatens the users to deactivate their number due to their involvement in illegal activities. According to DOT, such cases are now being taken seriously and advisories are being issued keeping this in mind.
Be careful of calls with this code
On behalf of DOT, it was said that if any WhatsApp users receive a call on the app from a number starting with +92, then be alert. DOT has advised people not to pick up such calls. DOT said that if a call comes from any such foreign number, do not respond to it and also immediately complain about it on the Sanchar Saathi web portal. Let us tell you that +92 code is the call code of Pakistan.

The Department of Telecommunications said that never call back on any such number and also block such numbers immediately. DOT said that we do not call anyone nor allow any officer to do so. If anyone receives such a call, do not share your personal information even by mistake.
