New Delhi. The Airport Authority has now issued a statement on the news of leakage of radioactive material at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow. The statement issued by the airport’s Chief Operating Officer Abhishek Prakash said that there has been no radioactive leakage of any kind. There has been no impact on the operations of the airport either. A shipment of cancer medicines was being taken to the cargo area when the alarm started ringing that there was radioactive material in it. As soon as the alarm rang, the security personnel became alert. After this, the NDRF team was called. After investigation, the NDRF team has said that the shipment is completely safe. According to the COO, there has been no casualty of any kind as is being claimed in the media. Along with this, he has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors.
Let us tell you that earlier it was reported that radioactive material has leaked from cancer medicine at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport, due to which two employees of the cargo department have fainted. Due to the possibility of radiation from radioactive material, the surrounding area of 1.5 km is also being evacuated. Earlier it was being said about this incident that cancer medicine was being sent in a flight going from Lucknow to Guwahati from Terminal 3. When the luggage was being checked with the luggage scanner, the scanner started making a beeping sound.
After this, the box of cancer medicine was opened. As soon as the box was opened, radioactive material leaked out and two cargo employees present on the spot fell unconscious. There was a stir at the airport after the information of leakage of radioactive material. Terminal 3 of the airport was evacuated in a hurry. Now Adani Group has issued a statement in this regard and clarified. It is worth noting that Adani Group is responsible for operating many airports in the country including Lucknow.
