Mafia don Brijesh Singh has once again entered the battle of MLC. Nomination paper was filed on behalf of Brijesh Singh for the Varanasi Local Authority election of Member of Legislative Council (MLC). Brijesh Singh is lodged in the Central Jail of Varanasi for the last one and a half decade.
Brijesh’s wife former MLC Annapurna Singh has filed the form. Both the candidates filed nomination papers in two sets each in the Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Court.
Brijesh Singh’s wife former MLC Annapurna Singh reached the Collectorate with a large number of supporters on Wednesday afternoon. Along with him, his representative Dharmendra Singh filed on behalf of Brijesh Singh in two sets. Assistant Returning Officer and Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Ranvijay Singh said that so far three candidates have filed their nominations.

Assistant Returning Officer Ranvijay Singh said that due to holiday on March 19, nomination will not be done. The Election Commission has changed the date of nomination. Now candidates will be able to fill the form on March 21. Earlier the date for filing nomination papers was announced from March 15 to 19.

SP has fielded former party worker Umesh Kumar Yadav as its candidate. He hails from Ramla village of Chiraigaon block. Presently the party has booth in-charge.
