A major action has been taken by the GST officials in Maharashtra on Sunday. A 29-year-old man has been arrested by GST officials in Raigad here. It is alleged that he had carried out a grand conspiracy to take advantage of fraudulent GST input tax credit of Rs 33 crore.
It was told by the CGST Commissionerate that in Raigad district, a 29-year-old man created more than 15 fake firms and issued fake challans worth Rs 180 crore by throwing dust in the eyes of the officials. Through this, he wanted to earn the benefit of bogus GST input tax credit of Rs 33 crore. Officials say that the person is being questioned.
