New Delhi. A big news is coming out from Maharashtra. Another city in the state has been renamed. The Shinde government has taken a big decision on Wednesday. In fact, the Eknath government of Maharashtra has changed the name of Ahmednagar. Now it has been changed to Ahilyabai Holkar Nagar. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced this. Let us inform that on the occasion of 298th birth anniversary of Ahilya Bai Holkar on Wednesday, CM Shinde has announced this. CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis had also reached his birth place. Meanwhile, he announced to change the name of Ahmednagar to Ahilyabai Holkar Nagar.
Significantly, earlier the Shinde government had changed the names of Aurangabad and Osmanabad. Aurangabad was renamed Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. And the name of Osmanabad was changed to Dharashiv. However, fierce politics was also seen in the state regarding the renaming of both the cities.
