Walse tweeted in this regard and said that it is hoped that this will strengthen the police force. Along with this, it will also help in reducing crime. Walse said that with this decision the dreams of thousands of head constables will be fulfilled. With this decision, a police constable will be able to retire as a sub-inspector.
He further informed that after this decision, a screening committee will now be constituted under the direction of the Director General of Police. This decision will benefit 1,08,058 constables, 51210 head constables and 17071 assistant sub-inspectors of the police force.
