Mahashivratri 2022. Mahashivratri festival has special significance in Hinduism and special events are organized across the country to worship Lord Bholenath. This year the holy festival of Mahashivratri is on 01 March 2022. It is a religious belief that the marriage of Baba Bholenath and Mata Parvati took place on the day of Mahashivratri and on this day Lord Shiva took the form of a corporeal form. It is believed that before that he was Parabrahma Sadashiv.
Trishul is the main weapon of Lord Shiva
On remembering Lord Shiva, a huge statue of Mahadev holding a trident, a damaru around his neck, a head, a snake appears. Lord Shiva is also known as Mahakal. Even the time of Mahakal Lord Shiva cannot spoil anything. The main weapon of Bholenath is Trishul. In such a situation, do you know how the trident came to Lord Shiva? What is its meaning and importance?
Mystery of Lord Shiva’s Trishul
In the Shiva Purana, a mythological story has been mentioned about the trident of Lord Shiva. It is told in the Shiva Purana that Lord Shiva appeared from Brahmanad at the time of the beginning of the whole creation. Three gunas, Raja, Tama and Sat gunas also appeared with him, by mixing these three gunas Shiva became Shool, which made Trishul. Whereas in Vishnu Purana it is told that Vishwakarma made a trident from that part of the sun which he offered to Lord Shiva.
Balance of creation by the balance of Raja, Tama and Sat gunas
According to the Sankhya philosophy, it is also believed that without a balance between the qualities of Raja, Tama and Sat, the universe could not be operated. Lord Shiva remains engrossed in these three gunas. These three qualities are included in the trident. Along with this, the trident of Mahadev is also seen by connecting three periods. It also symbolizes past, future and present tense. That is why Mahadev is called Trikaldarshi by the devotees.
Auspicious time of Mahashivratri 2022
This year Mahashivratri will start from 3.16 am on Tuesday, March 1. Chaturdashi date will end on Wednesday, March 2 at 10 am. According to religious beliefs, Mahashivratri is worshiped in 4 stages. There are four auspicious times for worship.
Worship of the first stage- March 1 from 6.21 pm to 9.27 pm
Worship of the second stage- March 1 from 9.27 pm to 12.33 pm
Worship of the third stage- March 2 from 12:33 pm to 3.39 pm
fourth stage of worship– March 2 from 3:39 am to 6:45 am
