Mahashivratri 2022: Bhopal, Navdunia representative. This time on the occasion of Mahashivratri, a festival like Diwali will be celebrated in Ujjain, the city of Lord Mahakaleshwar. ‘Shiv Jyoti Arpanam’ festival is being organized on 1st March on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. In Ujjain, on the banks of the river Maa Kshipra, every house in the temples, temples and cities will be lit. A target has been set to light 21 lakh lamps on the banks of river Kshipra and in the entire city. Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said this during a press conference on Sunday. He said that this program is being organized on the call of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. There will be participation of all sections of the society in this.
13 lakh lamps will be lit on both sides on the banks of river Kshipra. Apart from this, 51 thousand lamps will be lit in the courtyard of Devasthal Mahakal temple. Along with this, lamps will also be lit at major public places including Mangalnath Temple, Kaal Bhairav Temple, Garh Kalika, Siddhavat, Harsiddhi Temple. The citizens of the city will also light 5-5 lamps at their homes. Sankalp letters have also been filled by the citizens through Ujjain Municipal Corporation.
21 lakh lamps will be lit in Ujjain in 5 minutes
Dr. Yadav told that people have been connected through contact campaign in ‘Shiv Jyoti Arpanam’ festival. More than 17 thousand volunteers have registered. These include representatives of various voluntary organizations, students, sportsmen, professional and social organizations, representatives of religious institutions, saints of all akhadas. Blocks and sectors have been made for the arrangement of lamp lighting at Ramghat, the main venue. Volunteers have been appointed in each sector. There will also be a supervisor with them. He said that all the lamps have to be lit in 5 minutes.
Two crore people attend every year
Dr. Yadav said that 150 people will be involved inside the temple. During this, full security arrangements have been made. He said that even before the Kumbh in Ujjain, about two crore people attend the Kumbh, but the whole system is maintained through public participation. The residents of Ujjain have full help.
Guinness World Records team reached Ujjain
Dr. Yadav said that the Guinness World Records team has also reached Ujjain to record this event as a record. Last year a record was set by lighting 9.41 lakh lamps in Ayodhya. We have also set a target of lighting 13 lakh lamps.
The festival will be aimed at ‘Zero Waste’
Dr. Yadav said that the program has been designed by targeting zero waste in this festival. Identity cards of volunteers will be made from recycled paper through QR code app. After the festival, the lamps will be used for home composting, making pots, kullad etc. The remaining oil after the program will be used in Gaushala etc. Empty oil bottles will be reused. Paper matchboxes will be used to light the candles. Only bio-degradable cutlery, plates will be used for food and drink. All the components of the event are being decided as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry (Zero Best Program Standard Operating Procedure-SOP).
