Mahindra XUV900 Update: The country’s leading automaker Mahindra is in discussion these days regarding the demand for Xuv700. The car has been receiving tremendous response in the market since its launch, and now it seems, the company wants to stay in the news by expanding its XUV lineup. We are saying this because recently Mahindra has teased 3 new electric SUV concepts, which have been designed by UK based Mahindra Advance Design Europe (MADE) division.
The SUV shown in the teaser is touted as the ‘Born Electric Vision’, and these 3 new electric SUVs will make their global debut in July 2022. The three models shown in the teaser video show a compact SUV, a mid-size SUV and an all-new SUV coupe. It is believed that the new models will be built on the new ‘Born Electric’ EV platform. Not much has been revealed with the teaser, but it did say “Welcome to the new world of Bourne electric vehicles.”
What’s the update on XUV 900
If reports are to be believed, the newly introduced coupe SUV could be the brand’s upcoming XUV900. The new XUV900 is expected to be offered with multiple powertrains including petrol, diesel and electric. At the same time, the platform and mechanics of the ICE model of this car will be shared with the new XUV700.
Previous reports suggest that the Mahindra XUV900 will use the brand’s twin-scroll turbo mHawk diesel engine, which is expected to produce around 210bhp, and its transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter. While the petrol version is likely to get a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with manual and AMT gearbox options.
