Ajmer. A major accident took place today in Ajmer, Rajasthan. A 3-storey building collapsed near the world famous Dargah of Khwaja Garib Nawaz in Ajmer city. The sound made while the building was falling created panic in the surrounding area. However, there is no information of any kind of casualty yet. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the District Collector and Superintendent of Police and other officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The work of removing the debris has been started.
According to the information, the accident happened on Tuesday at around 3.30 pm. The building, which had completely collapsed, was in a very dilapidated condition. This building is said to be owned by some servant. There was no one in the building at the time of the accident. There were three-four shops of tea, paan and sweets under the building. Those shops were open. Luckily, as soon as some stones started falling from the building, the people present in the shops ran away. Due to the collapse of the building, a cloud of dust spread everywhere.
After that the building collapsed like a pack of cards. There was chaos due to the collapse of the building. Amidst the uproar, the local people immediately informed the police administration. As soon as information about the accident was received, District Collector Bharti Dixit, Superintendent of Police Chunaram Jat and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sushil Kumar reached the spot. The police administration immediately dispersed the crowd and called for JCB and other means to remove the debris.
Even initially there is no information about any kind of casualty. Still, the administration is trying to remove the debris as soon as possible so that any untoward incident can be avoided.
