Beirut: The Israeli army has launched a major attack in southern Lebanon. It is being said that this attack was carried out by Israel early this morning. At least 10 Syrian civilians were killed in this attack. While many people are reported to be injured. The exact number of injured is not known. Lebanon’s Health Ministry gave this information.
The attack on Wadi al-Kafur in the Nabatieh province is believed to be one of the deadliest attacks in Lebanon since the Hezbollah militant group and the Israeli army exchanged fire on each other on October 8, a day after Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel. Hezbollah says it will not stop its attacks until there is a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. According to the ministry, the dead included a woman and her two children. Five others were injured, two of whom were said to be in critical condition.
Israel attacked Hezbollah’s weapons depot
Israeli ministry spokesman Avichay Adri said the attack in the southern province targeted a Hezbollah weapons depot. Mohammed Shoaib, who runs a slaughterhouse in Wadi al-Kafur, said the attack hit an “industrial and civilian area” that also included brick, metal and aluminum factories and a dairy farm. Hezbollah had no immediate comment on the attacks. Lebanon’s government and top leaders from several other countries have been trying for weeks to end the months-long war. (AP)
