Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari has targeted the Trinamool Congress government in the state. Regarding the suspension of him and four other BJP MLAs from the assembly, he said that there is an “emergency-like atmosphere” in the state. The BJP leader alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scared as she is facing continuous opposition for the first time. He also said that the voice of the opposition is being suppressed.
The official tweeted, “Dark chapter in the history of Indian politics! The atmosphere of Emergency or Emergency reminds today’s Bengal. For the first time, the Chief Minister has been shocked after facing continuous protests, hence suppressing the voice of the opponents.” He also tweeted the letter he received from the West Bengal Assembly Secretariat, stating that he has been suspended from March 28 till the remaining session of the Assembly, which began on March 7.

Clashes broke out between BJP-TMC MLAs in the assembly
In fact, there was a huge uproar in the state assembly over the Birbhum incident. The matter escalated to the extent that there was a clash between TMC and BJP MLAs on the floor of the House. A TMC MLA had to be admitted to the hospital, he was bleeding from his nose. At the same time, the opposition alleged that eight BJP MLAs have been injured by TMC and security personnel.

The Speaker has suspended BJP MLAs Deepak Burman, Shankar Ghosh, Manoj Tigga and Narhari Mahto, besides Adhikari, for all the upcoming sessions of 2022. At least eight people, including women and children, were set ablaze on March 21 by unidentified people in Bogtui village of Birbhu district. The opposition has accused TMC leaders of being behind this violent incident.
