New Delhi. Sanjay Singh has got bail in the liquor scam case. In view of this, perhaps there is hope for another accused, Manish Sisodia, who was the Deputy CM in the Arvind Kejriwal government. Manish Sisodia has been in Tihar jail for more than a year. Manish Sisodia has filed a bail application. This bail application was heard on Tuesday. Earlier, even Rouse Avenue Court, Delhi High Court and Supreme Court had refused to grant bail to Manish Sisodia. In such a situation, Manish Sisodia has now put forth his point in the Rouse Avenue Court to get bail.
Manish Sisodia’s lawyer said during the hearing in Rouse Avenue Court that the ED investigation against his client has been completed. Manish Sisodia will not create any obstacle in the investigation nor will he try to destroy evidence. Manish Sisodia’s lawyer said that if bail is granted by the court, then his client is ready to accept any condition for it. In such a situation, now everyone’s eyes are on whether Rouse Avenue Court grants bail to Manish Sisodia or not. Now the bail application of Manish Sisodia will be heard on April 6 in Rouse Avenue Court. However, ED’s stand will be important in getting bail to Sisodia. Sanjay Singh got bail from the Supreme Court only when ED did not raise any objection.
ED has accused Manish Sisodia that he made a new policy and this led to the liquor scam. ED has accused Sisodia of favoring businessmen in making the liquor policy and causing a loss of hundreds of crores to Delhi’s exchequer. ED has claimed to have all the evidence against Sisodia, but the former Deputy CM of Delhi says that the investigating agency has not been able to prove that any money reached him.
